New year, new blog

Flowers, Photography, Style

One of my new year’s resolutions is to be a better blogger. I consider myself very lucky that anyone reads my blog, since I update it so sporadically – and in order for that to change I realised I needed to revamp ‘a lot on her plate’. At the moment I am fortunate enough to write about food, restaurants and gastronomy for a living, and this probably has something to do with the reason I fail to keep this regularly updated – I’m too busy trying to make ends meet with my food journalism to throw my energy into a food blog in my spare time. And precisely because I’ve become accustomed to doing journalism around food, there’s been a tendency on this blog to disregard the form of blogging and write long articles on here – which isn’t, as far as I can tell, what most people want from blogs. I am also incredibly lucky that as a part of my job I have access to some unusual and wonderful experiences – meeting fascinating people and travelling a fair bit. So from now on I want ‘a lot on her plate’ to celebrate more than just food – it will explore everything from travel, film and music, to fashion, vintage and books. There will still be lots in here about food and gastronomy (this is me, after all), but I want this to be a place for short, topical posts, personal projects, photo blogs and precise, engaging writing.

Thank you so much for reading, I hope you will stick with me.
